I am delighted to find there is still some Puffett blood around.  I grew up being told that the Puffett line was dying out.  There were no surviving boys in my mother's generation and I have never met a Puffett.  I haven't spent much time recently on my ancestry but I hope to find some photos and put on this site.   Thank you Auntie Wyn.

My mother's maiden name was Puffett and I have traced our Puffett family tree back to Filkins and Broadwell.

John and Mary Puffett had 8 children.
Henry (b.1780) married Sabina Cook they had 3 children
John (b.1809) married Dinah they had 3 surviving children
William (b.1834) married Jane Leaver (Laver) I think they had 10 children
Mary Anne Puffett daughter of William and Jane had an illegitimate child Alfred Thomas Puffett who was my grandfather.
I became interested in the family history because of the unusual name and because the Puffetts didn't look like their neighbours, Mary Anne Puffett (b.1865) was small, had sallow skin, very dark hair which even in old age did not go grey and the same was true for her son Alfred Puffett.  I would love to know if this gene for hair and colouring comes from the Puffett side of the family or if it came in via a female line.  As a child I was told that some Puffetts had gone to Africa - so am I connected to the South African Puffetts?
