Patrick’s birthday is confirmed from a baptismal record held by his daughter as 17/07/1904.
His father John was a Journeyman Printer / Compositer.

Sorry, only record I have found with his birth date is 1939 register.
He was married in 1929 and is shown as 25 on the certificate.
1911 census of Ireland has his birth about 1904.
Maybe that’s why I ruled out the 1972 death record with birth date of 25/02/1905. I will ask his daughter to confirm the date of birth.

Heywood,

I thought I’d bought a copy of that cert from the GRO but can’t find it in my file. Looks like I will have to order again.
I have limited the Search to Liverpool but he had family in Prestwich and Warrington and Ireland.

Chris,
Unfortunately I hit a brick wall with Ann. I have seen family trees with her parents named but without proof or source. I paid for a research project by the BFHS at Hawick but they couldn’t provide any further detail. Do you have records of Robert Frater with his parents named?

Chris,
Thanks for the post.
On the 1841 census John Reid (1771) is recorded as being born in the county, Roxburghshire.
On the 1851 census he is recorded as being born in Jedburgh.
His death certificate records his birth place as Jedburgh and his parents as John Reid and Jeanie Turner. A transcript of a gravestone at Jedburgh abbey records John and Jean Buried in the plot of her father George Turner.
Therefore I believe the John Reid I am trying to find records for was highly likely to have been born in Jedburgh.

Heywood,
Thanks for the response.
Patrick McLoughlin was born 17 July 1904 in Castlebar. Unfortunately the last record I can find is the 1939 Register in Liverpool. His wife Sarah died in 1980 not knowing what had become of him after he disappeared in the early 1960’s.

Lancashire / Patrick McLoughlin death record
« on: Monday 10 October 22 17:12 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to locate a death record for my ancestor Patrick McLoughlin born 1904 in county Mayo. There is a possible probate record for a man of the same name who died 16 Feb 1980 in Liverpool and probate awarded 17 March 1980.
I can find no corresponding death record. Is there any way I can find further details from the probate reference number?

Thanks again to everyone,

There are transcriptions of head stones in the same section with later plot numbers so possibly the stone has fallen or no longer exists.
I think the best option is to visit and locate the plot from the plan.
