Several wills I have seen where the person died during WW2 were proved in N.Wales at Llandudno, not London. Does anyone know how long this arrangement went on for please?   surguy

Shropshire / Re: Boden, Acton, Gibbons and Pountney of Broseley, late 1700's

Greetings. There is a lot via google on sam .pountney smith, (wiki of his life as architect, and his works, as in british-history.ac.uk, and he lives  at "the Limes", Coleham,Shrewsbury in 1851.)  I believe his father was Edward Smith, who married Emma Smallman 26/June/ 1807 , Munslow, Shrops.
My other Pountney's have another link with  (?other)Smallman. Have you tried the Shropshire family history society? they could be very helpful? He also left a will, probate granted5/Feb/1884, proved at Shrewsbury.....
A miscellaneous mention in my notes says there was a vicar at Quatford, Shrops, in 1901 called Pountney Smith. Good luck, Surguy
