Wigtownshire / Re: Lesley Cable/ Alexander McColm - Stoneykirk

Thank you Karen. I have just left for a week’s holiday (first in two years!) so am away from my desktop. My mother-in-law is a Hendry descending from the Peter and Mary from Ireland through their son Charles. She is in her 80s and had no knowledge of this Irish connection. Finding Irish documents is always a problem for me so that is my next problem. I hope we can talk about this when I have more information and/or questions.

Martyn from Canada!

Hello...I am researching the same people. My mother-in-law is a Hendry. I have traced her family back to McComb-Park-Summers and to Hendrie/Monaghan from Louth, Ireland. Perhaps we can talk.

Ayrshire / Re: Henry/Hendry/Hendrie/ Monaghan/Madden

Hello...I am in Canada researching the Peter Hendrie/Mary Monaghan family. I also can only find two children, James and Charles. My mother-in-law is a Hendry and I can trace her back to Charles. But I cannot seem to find out when/why Peter/Mary came to Ayrshire or the names of their parents. Anyone having luck with this?

Thank you for the swift reply. This John (of the John and Anne, parents) you refer to is actually the son of the Francis I am searching for. John probably named the child after his father. So this is the correct family. Where would that family likely be buried...the actual church or cemetery? We are travelling from Canada to England later this year and would like to visit the site if possible.

Looking for information about burial (headstone) for Francis Saunt (1752-1844) born in Sapcote or his father, John Saunt.
