Huntingdonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Military Records for John William Tee
« on: Thursday 14 August 14 12:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi, No we are not the same.  I know my Great Grandfather was in the British Military in 1911 under his own name. Either John William Tee or just John Tee. When he left for Canada in 1913, he used an assumed name on the ship records both leaving England and landing in Canada.  This leads me to believe he didn't want to be traced.

John William Tee states at least twice that he is Catholic but I suspect he converted later in life that is why I would like to know in what religion he was baptised and what religion his family practised.  Do you know if his parents were married in a church in Stanground and what is was?  I would appreciate any insight you might be able to give to me and I will check out the Huntingdon Archives Research Services.  Thank you for the information.

Huntingdonshire Lookup Requests / Military Records for John William Tee

In the 1911 Census my Mother's Grandfather was listed as being in the military in the Infantry 1st Battalion Bedfordshire Regiment.  His name was John William Tee, he was born in 1886 in Farcet and was 24 in the 1911 census.  His parents were Joseph Tee and Hannah Beeby.  At the time the regiment were in Aldershot, Farnham.  I have never been able to find his records online, but am wondering if the records are kept locally and if anyone could look them up for me.  I would greatly appreciate this.  In 1912 John William Tee immigrates to Canada under an assumed name and I would like to know the events that might have caused this departure.  I also think it would an important addition to the information I have on him and his life.  I would greatly appreciate any help or direction that anyone might be able to give. Thanks.

Hello, I am posting from Canada and hoping someone is able to look up a baptismal for my Mother's Grandfather, John William Tee born on May 15, 1886.  His parents were Joseph Tee and Hannah Beeby and he was born in Farcet.  I am also trying to determine what church he and his family belonged to and what religion he was.  I would greatly appreciate any help.
