Family History Programs, Tree Organisation, Presentation / Legacy Family Tree 10
« on: Wednesday 05 June 24 07:25 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone,

It was announced yesterday that after several years Legacy Family Tree has now released version 10.

https://legacyfamilytree.com/

The visuals have remained the same - unlike the completely different RootsMagic 9 from 7.

Several features have been added BUT the mapping is back within the program  :)

The biggest new thing is that it is FREE, yes FREE no having to pay for the deluxe features there is just the one version  :) :)

What's New In Version 10

Although I have thanked AntonyMMM privately in the PM's I would also like to thank him here for his insights and the time he took to look and reply.

I will also thank KGarrard who also gave some insights via PM - this is due to the person still being alive.

As always, this is a great forum and a pleasure to be part of it  :)

Blackburn with Darwen is the Registration District.
Lancashire is Registration County.

Always use the Registration District!

Why would the both be listed with different reference numbers and have never come across this situation before.

The person is still living so don't what to give away too much identifying info, sorry.

One is Blackburn with Darwen with the other being Lancashire - this being the R1

To muddy the waters slightly, there is actually 4 entries, 2 under one surname and then 2 under another, each surname has a registration in each district and each has one entry under Register Number R1.

Hi Everyone,

I have found a birth in 2005 and entered the details for the citation. Then during the list of results there is what appears to be a duplicate entry, but in a different registration district and has the Register Number of R1 ?

Never come across this before so any info would be greatly appriciated  :)

I have spoken to someone who used to work for My Heritage - the company they used to work at was bought by My Heritage - and they left due to the path they are taking.

Also looking at the link posted by Rena, it seems strange that the Chief Financial Officer has a postal address in Dorset, England but have listed their Country of Residence as Israel  ???

Hopefully you are successful in getting your money back, but have heard similar stories to yours quite a few times of >:( them

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Marital Status - Event or Fact

Thank you for your views and that you agree it is a Fact and that the Census is an Event and the Marriage would be the Event - I had started to doubt myself :)

My FTM software has a very large notes page that I can enter all this information freeform, without being restricted by trying to decide whether something fits into a particular category.

The one I am trying has a Census Entry ' tool ' and adds the Events & Facts, transcribes the details entered for the Census ( so no need to copy from somewhere or manually transcribe ) but has put the Marital Status as an Event which I felt was strange so thought I would ask the community.

Thank You and hope this might help anyone new  :)
