Hi Andy.  Thanks for your reply.  No I have not got any further with Edwards relationship to the Lawton family.  I states in the census that he was a nephew but I can't find any other info.

There is a baptism for a Joseph Webster in 1779 in Repton, father Joseph, mother Sarah Possibly MN Heartly). Possible parents for Joseph, Joseph and Elis.

Bradby (or Bretby) is a small village in the parish of Repton so a marriage in Repton is possible.

I believe Emanuel was born in 1800 in Severn Stoke, Worcestershire.  Father James mother Elizabeth.
Lucy was  born in Tardebigge about 1810.  They had a son, James born 1837, Christened in ST George RC, Worcester but he may have died the same year.

There is a christening in Bromsgrove, Worcester on 11 June 1775, father William and mother, Jane.  How sure are you of his year of birth? as there is also one in 1773 in Upton Warren, father William and mother, Mary. No sign of a James Walker Taylor.

I believe Elsie was the daughter of William and Phoebe Glover and baptised in Frankton 18 June 1899.  She had 7 brothers and 2 sisters and lived in Ryton on Dunsmore in 1901 and 1911.
William married Phoebe Susan Berry in 1882 in Ryton on Dunsmore.
Hope this helps

You may have to contact the vicar at Gwersyllt and ask if you can see the registers.

Thanks for all the replies.  I am having to rely on surviving members of the family for info and some  live in Australia.  I may have to obtain a marriage certificate to see what it says.  I am assured, again by family, that Vera was the youngest daughter of John and Edith (Howes) and that she married late in life.  I will follow up the birth date in 1930. Edith Elizabeth's parents were William and Harriett (I think!)

Many thanks for your replies.  It is quite possible that this is her death.  Where did you find the record of her death?  Her father did not remarry but died sometime in the 1930's.
