Hi pstainthorp
I don't know if you went and got the b.c. for Ada E. You can now find Mmn on the GRO website.
There are 4 Bowden boys and 1 girl with Mmn Jarvis between 1899 and 1915.
I'll send you a pm.
Cheers,
       Dominic

Thanks Brian - It worked! Fox Street was right where the Leeds College of Music is now.
And Linsley Court was half way up Argyle Road, on the right hand side just before you get to Mccaulay Street. Looks like a junk yard on Google Maps.
Thanks so much, Brian :D

Thanks Josey and Brian -
good to know just about where it was.
Thanks to Brian's link and hint I found Forres Street on the Tithe Maps 1890 and 1910 tucked in between Ridge Road and Meanwood Road :)
I'll check for the Census data - I don't have access to Ancestry, yet...
And Brian, if I send you a link to my dropbox - would you put the map or some screenshots of the area there?

Cheers,
      Dominic

Hi Josey - that sounds great. I'm also stumped for finding some streets in Leeds.
My great-grandad lived at 4 Fox Street when he was born in 1888, and 5 Linsley Court when he died in 1914. Also, I can't locate Forres Street.
Could you please help?
Tara from Germany,
       Dominic

Yaay :D! How did you find that? Cause I found it too on FamilySearch, literally two minutes ago.

I just received the B+D Certs as PDF!
James William is Ann's son.

Now then, off we go...

It could be that Sarah's dad is a John Lyth born 1775, bap. 16.11.1775 in Middleton by Pickering - father William Lyth. He married a Sarah Storry in Ellerburne 21.04.1799.
Bartholomew, bap. 16 Mar 1800 in ELLERBURNE
John, bap. 27 Dec 1801 in ELLERBURNE
Thomas, b. 28 Nov 1805, bap. 09 Jan 1806 in LEVISHAM
Mary, bap. 17 Jan 1811 in LEVISHAM
Sarah, bap. 20 Mar 1814 in LEVISHAM

What do you think?

Thanks for the pointer - Unfortunately, I don't have access to the Census pages.
I'm using FamilySearch and there I found the 1851 Census entry with Sarah Lyth 76, a cartman's widow, and the Scales family, and a lodger... and the 1841 entry.
