Carmarthenshire / Re: Mynydd Sylen Resolutions 1843 signatories map

Gellihir is the only one close to Mynydd Sylen, being in the hamlet of Horeb, next to Felin Newydd. G/Cynheidre is the other on the western edge. The Berwick is in Bynea, Llanelli. Bryngwynmawr in Dafen/Felinfoel area. Bryngroesfach, Caerbigyn are Five Roads and Soho would be Furnace (5 miles from Sylen). It's an interesting mix.

Should also add that there is a house on the crossroads on Mynydd Sylen, off Bethel Road and opposite Mount Pleasant Farm.....it was called Croeslaw and was a "ty Unnos" (built in one night on common land and then became freehold), Ystodwen Farm is further up the road where some Edmunds family lived.
Also John Daniel is a signature on the marriage certificate....not many of that name in the area, my gg grandfather being one!

Glynhir is near Ponthenri (off B4309), there was a large house there, but in the late 1880's, a mine was sunk nearby. I believe this is near the Baltic Inn, Ponthenri.

Industrial Revolution opened new opportunities, so people moved, mine went from Llandybie to Llangyfelach and Bridgend. So it is possible.....there is a quote seen, stating that Wales had more immigration in the 1800 than USA!

Adulam Chapel Felinfoel was the favoured one for Baptists as it's the oldest in the area.

Croeslaw is on the square in Five Roads (now adjoined with Hafod as one house). Ty mawr is further up past Horeb Mill.....a member of my family lived there.AN

I've got stuck with Israel Philpott(1738-1793) and his father Robert (1700-1766). There are links to Coedcyw Mill and think a Philpott was the last miller of Felin Newydd, Horeb.
