Entirely feasible quite likely in my view. The older children probably born there. Thank you so much, I just wanted to make sure I had the right families. So many of my Presbyterian lines were over the water to and fro, seasonal work or family ties. If James Moore was born in Scotland, even if he just married in Scotland,  I may get a lead from there to my Antrim Moores as the records are so much better. Will march on!

Ann Jane Moore is living with the young boy William Montgomery, presumably the son of Rebecca Moore, in the 1911 census, in the home of Thomas Moore.

Thank you so much for continuing the search but Margaret Reid is not her. She is the step daughter of the earlier pages of this post. My one is the same age and name but she married James Moore and in the 1901 census is with some of her adult Moore children in Stranocum. She is listed as Margaret Jane Harbison on the record of Ann Jane Moore's birth.

Yes, we have the right Moore family here because Ann Jane Moore is the sister (and witness)
Ann Jane remarried unmarried at the 1911 census and was living with her Brother, Thomas.
Their Mother, Margaret Jane H*rbison's marriage to James Moore eludes me so far and the Moore name is almost as bad as Smith. It will fall into place eventually.

Thank you for the additional detail. Isabella was William McCurry's sister. William was my 3 x Grandfather. B 1824. His daughter, Sarah Jane, married John Smyth, B. 1838 Mulkeeragh. Marriage 1872, also Tamlaght Finlagan. Their son was my Grandfather, Joseph Smyth. Alexander McCurry, Father to Isabella and William was born 1777 approx and married 4 times, his last wife being Ann, Mother to Isabella and William.

Not the one I seek then. Thank you for the laying it to rest. My 3 x GrandAunt, Isabella McCurry married John H*rbison in Limavady 1850.

I am interested in Margaret (Jane) Harbison who fits with the age of the step daughter mentioned in the 1851 census. Her birth date is approx 1831, she married James Moore and lived in Belfast. The 1901 census finds her as Head of Household Stranocum with adult children named Moore. Her daughter (Rebecca) married a Montgomery if the family tree that I got that info from is correct.
I am actually chasing Moores but Harbisons are married into my McCurry lines. Step children are often difficult to identify so I thought to add this to the mix.

Derry (Londonderry) / Re: Boggs from Londonderry

A website 'Bogstown.com' might help some viewers. There's a list of associated families which I found useful. The Livingstone's took the name Boggs, but it was an insiders joke because the land of Swantallow that became 'Elagh' was high ground, very fertile, highly desirable for commanding views of the countryside. Fascinating stuff with the Battle of Elagh featuring. Others may wish to comment on its veracity

Well heavens above. Michael Gyler on his wedding certificate because he was called that informally. He had an older cousin also named Alexander in Limavady, his first cousin, son of John and Elizabeth Mitchell. When his cousin died aged 19 my Great Grandfather, Alexander Michael Guiler, started using his proper name. I stay in touch with Jerry Hunter who married Una. Alexander, Mary Jane and Alexander's son, was my Great Uncle, Brother to Amelia, Hannah, Mary, Katherine, Joseph and Annie. Hello cousin.
