Son William John was baptised 1869-
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NPNW-WYG

The first complete census for Ireland is 1901- only fragments of earlier ones for a few places survive.

Thank you Aghadowey,

How would I go about trying to locate Thomas orr, I am sure he was born 1837 in Newtownards, Down, as this is shown in his military records and I think his family were Presbyterian, And I have his fathers name from the marriage, but what I don't know is how and where to find records pulling this together?

Hello,

Any chance of some help please, I have Thomas Orr 1837 Ireland & Matilda Orr 1845 Ireland.

I found the following marriage on an old cached website: a pictorial history by Derek Beattie - Stevenson Family www.newtownards.info/family-stevenson.htm.

"Stevenson, Matilda - 12th. July 1867 - {Father John Stevenson a weaver} - Married Thomas Orr - {Father William Orr a shoemaker} Witnessed by James and Margaret Dalzell"

Thomas and Matilda appear to of had a their first son William John Orr in 1870 Devonport, Plymouth, Devonshire, England.

I'm Struggling to locate Thomas and his father William and Matilda and her father John in the 1841 census.

Any information or pointers regarding researching this family would be much appreciated.

Regards

Adrian

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: 1841 Kent lookup
« on: Saturday 11 May 13 09:08 BST (UK)  »

Thank you all for responding its much appreciated.

The reason I thought she might be in prison is I located the following on another site.

Remmelion Joy Age:31
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1810
Date of Trial:1 Jul 1841
Trial Year:1841
Location of Trial: Kent, England
Sentence:Imprisonment

It could be that the Census was before the sentence or after her release, looks like I need to
find some further information, would I be correct in thinking the quarter sessions will hold this?

Regards

Adrian

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 keynsham look up please
« on: Friday 01 April 11 06:53 BST (UK)  »

Thank again foryour time,

I think what i need to do is visit my local records office and look through the st Catherines house index,
however all I have at the moment is the marriage record as follows.

Marriages Jun 1920   2a 543
Ripley  George W  Reigate  (This is actually Rapley)
Ruddle  Louise  Reigate

George has been in my records for some time now and only found Louise in the last few days
after picking up on the trail again after a few years.

I now George died in 1978 and possibly Louise died around the same time in 1977 i think and this would have been Reigate in Surrey.

That's all I have on Louise at the moment, but thank you for your help again.

Thank you ever so much for looking this up, however I'm just wondering if it would be possible
that I've got it wrong?

Would it be possible please to see if another Louise Ruddle is in this county in the 1891 please?
I only have the marriage at the moment so I cant be 100% sure that this is the correct branch.

Thank you again for your help,

Regards

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / 1891 keynsham look up please
« on: Wednesday 30 March 11 07:10 BST (UK)  »
Hello,

Would it be possible to look up the following for me please?

I have "Louise Ruddle" born 1885 in Keynsham (Somerset) but think this is Gloucestershire, and I'm just wondering if her family might appear in the 1891 census please.

I don't yet know the names of other family members however her father was rumoured to be a school teacher.

Thank you in anticipation of some nice results  :)

Kind Regards

Adrian
