My dad did not join the forces in ww2 because of poor eyesight, He was a member of the st Ambulance because we found a badge dated 1938. My late cousin searched her dad and brothers history and they were all miners and lived and died in Hetton. She could find no information on my dad and poor health meant she had to stop searching.

Thanks

I have a copy of both parents birth cerificates and their marriage certificate. They married in east Molesey in 1942.

What I would like to know for now is what schooling he had and what work he did in Hetton

As I said in my first message is posting ads in local newspapers a good idea??

Thanks

Hello

I am researching my late fathers life or trying too

Stephen Corner
Born !2th March 1907 Hetton Le Hole Durham
Died 4th August 1972 East Molesey Surrey

I cannot find much about him from when he was born until he moved to London in the 1930s

Is it worth placing adverts in local newspapers in Hetton area and asking if anyone knows anything about him?

Any tips or advice welcome

Thanks

Steve

Yes I have confirmed my mother was living in New Malden on the 1939 register. So it seems the id card can be of no further help to me Thanks
