Channel Islands Lookup Requests / Re: James William Quick, St Peter Port in 1911

I just wondered if you received a reply to your question. I have some information on the Quick family but I am particularly interested in any information you have on Lanowlee Mary the wife of James William Quick

Would you think this is the family of John Redmond (father of Julia Agnes)? John's marriage certificate says he is son of James and born in Dublin City.

sorry, one more question. In the Channel Islands female deaths (if married) are still registered under the wife's maiden name. In England they are registered under their married name. What is the protocol in the Irish records please.

thank you very much. I will give you a rest whilst I see if I can build on the information you have sent me. I am doing this research for my two nieces. Their late father was a child of Frederick Magee and Julia Redmond.

I am sorry, I realised as soon as I had sent the message I had made a schoolboy error of counting the birth in 1914. It would be interesting to know if there were any births (other than Frederick Joseph) after 1911.
Using your link, I found the (O) Brien family in the 1901 census and found Minnie O'Brien (sister of Elizabeth) in there so I would assume it is her with James in the 1911 census you sent. I seem to recall reading somewhere that a number of the Irish census were lost in a fire which I presume accounts for the gap in the census list up to 1901.
I do have experience in Channel Islands research but none in Irish so any useful links you can let me have would be much appreciated.

Thank you so much for your time and all the information and links. Much more than I had hoped for but hopefully there may still be more to come. A couple of questions on the information sent. The 1911 census says they (James and Eliza) had 8 children although you have sent me 9. Do you think they did not count the first born unnamed twin? Do you think that James was in Tipperary for work?
