Clare / O'CALLAGHAN family co clare -links to co waterford - newry

looking for info on the o'callaghan family,(i realise they were a big family and many of them), i have ancestors .
i know that a michael ocallaghan was born co waterford in co cappoquin born 1848.His occupation was a shipwright and latterly a musician.
he married a margaret mitchell, from newry, they both married in liverpool1870.
There is talk that this part of the family fled ireland in the potato famine , to liverpool , england. and there is also talk that there is some connection with the family to co clare, i am unsure where and it seems hard to gather info from irish records. i would appreciate any info anyone may have on parish records \ anyone that may have connection to the family or just general info, no matter how small it i
