Durham Lookup Requests / William Hogg_Ryton Registers
« on: Monday 26 February 07 02:41 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All

Could someone who has access to the Ryton registers please try and find a christening date for William Hogg circa 1827. His parents were William and Mary.
Thankyou

Bryan

Hello Laurina

Yes i am aware that Ancestry service is available, though I find the images take longer to appear than on 1837.

Hello Trish

Thankyou for your reply and I can advise the problem is now fixed. You were quite correct in your diagnosis, the plug in had not downloaded correctly, and the auto install was used to correct this so now all is well.

Thanks again Bryan

Hello Anne and Falkryn

Thankyou very much for your assistance, though I will have to wait for somebody more technical than myself to carry out
your instructions.

Much obliged Bryan

Thankyou for your reply Falkryn.

According to the DjVu website the download was completed.

As far as I am aware Iam not using Firefox.

The thing that is puzzling is how was I able to see the images in the past but not now. Surely once you install a DjVu browser it should remain on the computer.

Technical Help / DjVu browser plug in.
« on: Tuesday 10 January 06 17:54 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All

On and off for the past two years I have been buying units from 1837 on line and viewing the images on their site.
Two days ago I bought some new units but when I attempted to view the image I was told I needed to download the DjVu browser plug in. Though surprised I downloaded it without success as I could not even see the sample image.
Could anybody out there tell me what the problem is and how to rectify it.

Thankyou Bryan

Thankyou for your reply Hackstaple. I think I can assume that it was not a placename.

Gloucestershire / St. John Gloucestershire?
« on: Saturday 03 December 05 18:12 GMT (UK)  »
Hello All

At the time of the 1851 census my gg grandfather gave his birthplace as Gloucestershire only. However at the 1861 he prefixed it by the name St. John.
Can anybody tell me if there is a place called St. John or if not, to what could could he have benn referring.

Any help appreciated
Bryan
