Thanks for sending this - oh dear, that might be him. It seems that his life fell apart when his partner died and alcohol was a major prpblem for him.

I am looking for any information on my grandfather Billy McKegg who was born in 1909 in York and lived in the Walmgate area. He left York after 1932 and went to London, he was living there in 1938 in the Paddington area and from 1939 to 1958 was in Hammersmith at various addresses including Aldine St, Stanlake Rd and Blythe Rd.
He lived with a lady called Alexandra (Konheiser / Conner / McKegg) in Hammersmith for about 20 years.
Sadly when Alexandra died Billy lived in Carrington House Deptford in 1960 - a homeless shelter and in 1961 another homeless shelter in Old Street Finsbury.
I am hoping that someone remembers Billy (maybe from local pubs) or has any stories from other generations.

My grandfather lived at Blythe Rd in Hammersmith for 10 years in 1940's 1950's with his partner. Their names were William (Billy) and Alexandra McKegg. Billy was originally from North Yorkshire and Alexandra from Finland. I am wondering if anyone here either remembers them or is a living relative who may have information or photographs of them. I have been unable to locate a photo of my grandfather Billy.
