Hi,

Free Reg has a list of numerous William Smith baptisms (with a father William Smith) in Hertfordshire around 1802, so it may be very difficult to identify the correct one.

I was hoping that there might have been a naming pattern from the children's names, but it is difficult to be certain

Hi,

I take it you are aware that Emma Game married Thomas William Kirkham on 14 Dec 1858 at St Lukes, Islington (Father shown as Charles Game) and that the 1861 census for them is on Ancestry shown as Emma Curklan age 26 born Newington. She is shown age 7 in the 1841 census.

There are trees on Ancestry you could view if you so wished - they show Emma died in 1904 at Barnet Middlesex.

Hi,

There are seven births/baptisms entries at Horeb Calvinistic Methodist Chapel at Llangristiolus, Anglesey listed in Gwynedd FHS pre 1837 booklet as follows -

1. Jane Chambers - 19 May 1825 - Parents John Chambers (Farmer) and  Jane Jones of Tynypwll
2. John Chambers - 27 July 1820 - Parents Jno Chambers (Farmer) and Jane Jones of Tynypwll
3. John Chambers - 28 October 1827 -  Ditto
4. Margaret Chambers - 4 December 1829 - Ditto
5. Mark Chambers - 19 November 1822 - Ditto
6. Mark Chambers - 7 April 1832 - Parents John Chambers (Farmer) and Jane Jones of Tynypwll
7. Richard Chambers - 29 October 1834 - Parents John Chambers (Farmer) and Jane Jones of Carreg

It shows inconsistencies with the mothers and fathers parishes - Father either from Llanfaelog (1,3 & 7); Llangristiolus (4 & 6) or Trefdraeth (2 & 5) and mother from either Amlwch (1,2 & 5) or Trefdraeth (3,4,6,& 7), but all children said to be born in the parish of Llangristiolus

Hi,

It seems Eliza Jane died on 5 September 1928 at itasca, Minnesota (see familysearch.org) - her parents showing as Wm Andrews and Phillipa Scobie.

There is a marriage in Truro Cornwall, England between William Andrew and Phillipa Scoble in 1841.

The 1900 USA census  for Minnesota show that Eliza Jane had 8 children with 5 still living at the time, 2 of them Clara (1878) and Mona (1882) living with them. Nothing else investigated to date.

A tree on family search shows 9 children for William and Phillipa - William 1841; Phillipa 1845;Joseph 1847; Joseph J 1848; Elizabeth 1849;Eliza J 1852; John 1856; Elisha 1860; Matilda 1860.

Hi,

Have been looking at the marriage in 1869 on familysearch.org and there are two different returns -

Both say John Johns age 31 a Miner (so born 1838/9) but one says Elizabeth J Lamson age 28 (so born 1841/2) and the other Elizabeth J Lampshire same age. The one showing Lamson is Image 258 of 605 (page 255 entry No 1) - Marriage return to the Hon Secretary of State of Michigan and the Lampshire Image No 44 of 665 (entry no 78) on the State of Michigan record.

On Free BMD and in Ancestry records there is an Elizabeth Jane  Lampshire born in Truro District Cornwall in Dec Quarter 1842 so it seems that  this John's wifes maiden name may have been Lampshire. The 1851 census show her as living in Gwennap with her mother Ann (a widow at the time). However maybe this marriage is not connected?

Making things more complicated there is an Elizabeth Andrews born Dec Quarter 1842 Redruth  District Cornwall and this district includes Gwennap!! More questions seem to follow the 1886 marriage to Martin Trewhella which shows her as age 33 (he was 26) - this seems to suggest she was born 1853 (but perhaps she was really 43?). If you could find a death record for her it might help.

Apologises if it is confusing.

Hi,

I have seen the post regarding the 1896 marriage for George Jones but think it is a different family,

Your George was born c 1831 and this George around 1871 (age 25 at date of marriage)'

Other than this I feel the other details shown seem to be making sense.

Sussex / Re: Richard Barton

Hi

FreeReg shows 2 entries for Richard Barton  in Sussex - one burial 22 March 1744/45 at Heathfield and another of Richd Barton, on 3 May 1745 at Angmering.

The Find a grave entries at Heathfield  don't seem to offer any help.

There is a will on Ancestry (relating to the one at Angmering) leaving  his estate to two married daughters - Did the son Richard have two daughters, Anne and Frances?

Hi,

Just for interest, it looks like Leney Ellen Crowther married in 1893 at West Derby (BMD shows her name as Lena) to James Archibald Kelynack.

She died Fylde area of Lancashire age 68 in June 1939,

Alan
