Hi Deebee

Thought I would post you a reply as it looked a little lonely, maybe it will bring it to the top again.

Technical Help / Re: Drop Down Menus
« on: Saturday 11 November 06 23:51 GMT (UK)  »
Sorry, I don't think I explained it properly.  When I go to a web page and have to fill in a form etc and it gives a pull down tag with choices on (like the one on the reply to message post on this page where it says Message icon or Change color) I can't seem to change it.  I've never had the problem before but it means I'm limited to what pages I use, trying to get on FreeBMD or Genes but all use the choices buttons which I can't change.  Hope I've explained it better as I'm not sure of the terminology.

Any help really, really appreciated.

Thanks, bertie1

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: BERTRAND, Bethnal Green

Hi Jo

Thanks for the information, I was really hoping to find their marriage cert so I could confirm Georges Dad and I have tried many times and thought I had missed it, you have confirmed what I suspected that they didn't marry.  Oh what a pain, I have a tree that goes right back but not sure which George branch to follow.  Lots of Georges born around the same time to various cousins.  Thank you again for the time and trouble you have taken, really appreciated.

Kind regards

June

Hi Caz

I think we have been in contact before through Genes Reunited.  The only information I have about Prossers in the East End has been passed to me via Tracey Ashwell who I met through Genes and she has extensive information about them.  It might be worth you getting in contact with her as she might be able to help you.

Thanks for getting in contact, hope you have some luck.

Kind regards

World War Two / WW2 Where did my Dad serve?
« on: Wednesday 20 September 06 02:17 BST (UK)  »
My Dad Samuel Bertrand born 1922 according to Mum and Dad's marriage cert was a Driver with RASC his service number was T16663124 and lived in Hackney.  I'm afraid he died when I was 9 but I would love to know where he was posted whilst in the Army.  I remember talk of maybe Tunisia and also that the boat he was on was torpedoed and that he was pulled out of the water by rope, upside down by an ankle.

I would be grateful if anyone could tell me or point me in the right direction for any information.

Thanks Bertie1 (June)
