Hi, thank you for your reply, I can understand what you are saying, but I did find his two marriages so maybe he was not always a non conformist then.Thank you anyway I shall just have to keep looking and maybe look for his parent's records again. Kind regards Cockneygirl

Surrey / Boheme or Bohemia Burt
« on: Friday 18 October 13 15:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I am still trying to sort out my 4rd great grandfather's birthplace and year of birth. His name was Boheme or Bohemia Burt. He lived in St. John Horsleydowns in Bermondsey, Surrey where he had his children one of which was John Burt who was my 3rd great grandfather. Okay I have been looking for his birthplace for a long time, about 3 or 4 years. I have now found a Boheme Burt born in Ivinghoe, Buckinghamshire in 1776 with parents John and Elizabeth, but I cannot find anything else about them.
The other problem I have now found is that I seem to have found Boheme's death in Long lane Bermondsey in the Non Conformists list and it says he died 13/06/1832 aged 50. which makes his birth date of 1776 wrong. Can anybody please help with this Birth it is driving me mad now! As he lived his married life and had his family in Bermondsey, first as a Baker and then as a Mariner I naturally though he might have been born in that area. I have found his two marriages, one in 1801 to Ann Jackson and the 2nd one to Jane Wilson in 1823. I just need to confirm his birth please. Can anyone help with this for me please?    Cockneygirl

Hi and thankyou for taking the trouble to help me, I have been looking again today but I  cannot seem to get any further forward with my William's wife, I know the name of Gregory seems quite common in that area, so its hard to actually pinpoint  a definite marriage for him. I have tried looking for a marriage to a Sarah but still no luck.  I really appreciate your help anyway. Kind regards, Cockneygirl.

I have a John gregory who was born in c1795 At Wheeldon trees Farm, Hartington, Derbyshire. I am trying to find his father and mother's marriage. His father's name was William Gregory and I am assuming he was born around 1775, Unfortunately I do not know his wife's name, and I am  trying to find out and when they might have got married.  I know that John Gregory was married to Elizabeth Titterton on 17/02/1823. I would be so grateful for any help with this, there are so many Gregorys in that area and its proving very difficult. Many thanks,   Cockneygirl.

HI Zen,
Thankyou very much, this information could be just what I am looking for, it all sounds right, even the William Clewes bit because he was born on 12/3/1780.
With a bit more luck, I may be able to tie him in to the family tree through his siblings.
Thankyou for your time and trouble, this is much appreciated. Kind regards, Cockneygirl.

I wonder if anyone can please help me with William Clowes. I think he married Hannah Rogers, but I cant seem to find out if they had any children and when or where they would have been born. I also think his father was Samuel Clowes and mother Ann Wedgwood, but I cant find out if he had any siblings or what their names were or when they would have been born.  I need to tie him into a family tree somehow but am stuck.    Any help with this would be most appreciated. Hi,
I am looking for my great grandmother and I wonder if anyone can please help me look her and her family up in Spilsby, Lincolnshire please.
Her name is Matilda Cooke and she was born about 1822 in Spilsby I think and her father's name was James Cooke. Matilda married in 1850 to William Lacey in Shoreditch, London. I have found her marriage. According to a later census, she was listed as being from Spilsby and this is the only clue I have to her birth.
This is taking up a lot of time but I still haven't found her., can anybody please help?  Kind regards Cockneygirl.
