P.S.
I am now wondering if Dewsbury did have any Pedlars Licences as I originally thought he was from the Goole area.

John William Screeton or Scruton
I wondered if anyone may be going to the Dewsbury Library & could do a look up on the Electoral Rolls please?

The person in question died 29 March 1938 & on his death certificate his last know address 121 Old Westgate, Dewsbury (a Boarding House on the 1911 Census) & he was a Pedlar.

I am not sure what date the Electoral Rolls were taken so would appreciate if someone could look on the 1937/1938 & see if he was at the above address.

His death was recorded as Scruton but hoping it was Screeton. No Pedlars Licences have survived from then & would appreciate if anyone had any other suggestions on how to find out his correct surname.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Gill

Hi,

I would appreciate it if anyone was going to the Archives at Beverley they could do a look up for the marriage below please.

Hull Packet - Friday 19 October 1849
October 13, at Welwick, by the Rev. John Watson, Mr. Jno. Sergeant, butcher, to Sarah Ann, third daughter of Mr. Abraham Leonard, farmer, all of that place.

I do not have a Sarah Ann who is daughter of Abraham Leonard, his daughter Sarah married William Giles in 1851 at Welwick & she was Abraham's fourth daughter not third.  She was down as a spinster on that marriage entry.

Many thanks

Sarah's sister Elizabeth (3rd daughter) married Robert Sergeant that day at Welwick so could this be an error with the names in the paper?

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Barrow-upon-Humber MI's

Hi Annie,

I actually went & had a look in the Churchyard but very few stones considering the size of the village & a few of the surviving ones were lined up against a wall but no May's there.

It was very disappointing, but I had been to the Cemetery a few years ago & not found them in there although we found the headstones of his mother & niece & also one of his sisters.

Thank you very much for the offer, it is very good of you but I think it would be a fruitless search.

I have found these burials in the Holy Trinity PR's & would appreciate it if anybody has the MI's they could look to see if there are any headstones for them please.
Charles May (buried 15th Jul 1905) & his wife Mary Ann May (buried 24th Feb 1899)

Also if there any other May's.  I have the details of the ones that are buried in the Cemetery although they are not in the PR's & think they may be Wesleyan or Methodists.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Hi

Swineshead Registers are on the 'Lincs to the past' site but not sure which years they cover.

Results 1 - 9 of 1232 for " swineshead parish record" which means quite a lot are on there.

Sorry, just realised you are looking for Swinstead not Swineshead,
Results 1 - 9 of 156 for " swinstead parish record"
