Hi there
I have Benbows from Llandinam in my family tree. I have a Mary Benbow born in 1831 who had two illegitimate sons, born 1866 and 1869, named Thomas and Charles. She and her boys ended up in the Union House Weobley.
Her father was a Thomas Benbow who worked in Whitehall in London as office keeper for the Quartermaster General.
Mary Benbow's son, Thomas Benbow, died in the war but Charles went on to marry twice under the name of Charles Williams and had five children. He was my great grandfather.
I only yesterday discovered that The famous hero Admiral Benbow was from that part of the world and wonder if there's any connection.
It would be nice to have an illustrious ancestor!
