Warwickshire / Re: Pearsall Family from Birmingham, Boiler Makers
« on: Tuesday 27 February 24 09:00 GMT (UK)  »
Wow amondg, thank you so much for that. By Jupiter I think you have cracked it. They certainly fit, I will look into them. Netherton, is an area in Dudley so the Brierley Hill families fit. I will post back once I have time to flesh the family out. The Steam engine the Stoubridge Lion was made in this area by the Foster and Rastrick Foundry in 1829;  I wonder if the Pearsall family had a hand in making its boiler. I can feel a visit to the area coming on and some industrial archeology research is required.
Many thanks

Thank you very much ColC, I had not seen the Tamworth baptism on my searches, I will explore that avenue. I found James and William Pearsall in 1841 and 1851 in Brierley Hill as Boiler Manufacturers. I cannot connect them as yet.

Warwickshire / Pearsall Family from Birmingham, Boiler Makers
« on: Monday 26 February 24 13:35 GMT (UK)  »
I hope that I can get some help from you good people out there, I am looking for the parents of John Pearsall who married Ann Ford at St Philips Cathedral in 1834. From census records he was born around 1814. He was a boiler maker from Birmingham. I have found him and his family in 1841, 1851 and 1861. He died in 1866. I think the clue to him might be his profession as boiler maker as his son's were also boiler makers. His death was registered in Birmingham in 1866 where his profession was given as Boiler Smith. Letitia Handy was present at his death and I think that she was nee Nichols born 1806 to Sarah Pearsall born 1780 and her husband John Nicholls.

At first I thought he might have been the son of boatman Daniel Pearsall and his wife Sarah from Smethwick as they baptised a son John in 1814 in Smethwick but I have ordered some death certificates and their son John was a boatman who died of typhus fever in 1840.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
I have Fisher and Hurcombe DNA from Uley. I have tested on Ancestry but exported my DNA data to Gedmatch and Myheritage. Gedmatch kit number MX2147275.
I wonder if we share some DNA?

I know this is an old message trail but I am looking for Alderthea/Aldersey/Aldersea family records, I thought I would post my interest. My family were from Halesowen in the 1700s. I have John Alderthea (born around 1730) marrying Sarah Spencer in Halesowen 4 Mar 1760. They had many daughters but only two surviving sons. I will start looking at the Madeley area I think.

Hi

I have Stenson as a family name in my family tree. They intermarry in Derbyshire with my White/Revell family.

My Ancestry tree page is at:

Hi Goldie61 and Trish

I can only see one reply button as your posts came in at almost the same time. First of all Goldie, thank you so much for suggesting all those avenues to search and things to bear in mind. I will provide a comprehensive answer for anyone reading this message trail in the future, once I have had time to research more fully. I am used to going to my local LDS Church for my brick wall queries as they have such a wealth of experience among the people who run their family history afternoons and have managed to unearth things online that my home resources fail to pinpoint. Of course their computer room is closed currently due to the Covid pandemic.

Secondly Trish, yes I am so glad you found that too. I have looked at the Duffield marriage of Ruth White to Thomas Stenson in 1816 and wondered how she might be connected to my Margaret White, one of their witnesses was Eliza Mayblin/Mablin; a Ruth Mablin married a Joseph White in Duffield in 1778 and DNA suggests I may be linked to some of his descendants. Samuel the only child of Ruth and Thomas Stenson (that I can find) was baptised at St Alkmunds Derby 6 Oct 1824 and his second marriage as a widower was to Ruth Revell the daughter of Margaret Revell nee White. If Ruth White and Margaret White were sisters this would mean that full cousins married which was legal but unusual. Ruth born around 1799 and Margaret 1796 could be cousins and not sisters. O what a tangled web our ancestors weave.

Many many thanks to all you knowledgable helpers out there.

Felix
