Hi Jackie,

My Rogers relatives are very elusive. Margaret Rogers was my 3x great grandmother who married Patrick Coyle in 1880. I only have the name of her Father - James Rogers with the Townland of Plush given as his address, on her marriage certificate. I don’t have any other information to offer unfortunately. Best regards
Debs.

Hi

I have a Margaret Devlin on my Great Grandfather' marriage certificate. 1909
Other witness is Thomas Gibney.

Christopher Coyle,  Navyman,  of 26 Edward Street married Hannah Duff.

I will need to confirm more with my Dad but I have a feeling that these names are connected: GIBNEY, DEVLIN and BOYD (Paddy?)

I'm making good progress so far!!!
D.

I am trying to find any further information about my Father's family.

Here goes:

Felix Rice m. Sara Kerr 1874
(Father's name Felix Rice and Archibald Kerr)
Arthur Edmund Rice b. 1880. d.1921 m. Jane Cotter in 1899

All the Rice men seem to have worked in the linen trade.

Arthur and Jane had several children, only one survived - my Grandmother Margaret b. 1911.
Jane died in 1917. Arthur appeared to have served as a soldier. He remarried in 1919 to Ellen Cronin (also widowed). Her Father was Francis Cronin.  Felix died in 1920.

The address at death for Felix and Jane is 51 Lisburn Road - is this a hospital address? Arthur died in the Ulster Volunteer Hospital.

Jane's parents were John Cotter and Margaret Cooney, also had a sister Eliza Cotter who married a Joseph Healy. I think the Cotters may be from Monaghan.
A Mary Taylor (a cousin, living at 25 Baker Street) is shown to be present at Jane's death.

My Grandmother Margaret never mentioned her father or mother. She only spoke of Mary (Molly) Healy (daughter of Eliza Healy, nee Cotter) as she became her guardian. Molly was a very strict Catholic and arrangements were made for my Grandmother Margaret to join a religious order. She spent some time in France working "with Nuns as a nurse". We now believe she may have been a postulate Nun. I'm guessing that she did this around in the late 1920's. She returned to England in about 1935/36 and married my Grandfather Christopher Coyle in Birmingham 1937.

I don't have any relatives (so far) who can help me with this rather sketchy history. If anyone can help in any way I would be very, very grateful.

Thanks for looking.

I am trying to get some more leads on my paternal line of family having recently obtained information from the Cavan Research Centre.

Patrick Coyle m. Margaret Rogers 18/6/1880
The Father's names are Micheal Coyle and James Rogers with addresses being Castletarra Ballyhaise and Plush.

There is also a Mary Coyle shown on baptism record for John Patrick

Children:
James b. Inishbeg 5/9/1881
Mary Anne b. Inishbeg 12/5/1883
John Patrick b. Inishbeg 23/5/1885 (twin) civil registration as Charles John
Christopher Joseph b. Inishbeg 23/5/1885 (twin)
Rose Anne b. Ballyhaise 21/7/1887

We only have information in relation to my great grandfather Christopher and very sketchy ideas that some of his siblings may have emigrated to Canada. I would dearly love to find any more connections or information. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
