Northumberland / Re: WRIGHT family Northumberland and Durham area
« on: Friday 18 September 15 16:41 BST (UK)  »
Hi,My g.g. grandfather was Ebenezar Wright b.1829 Cumberland and brother of Peter Wright.  Ebenezar was a stone mason and I have him in Lewis, West Virginia, USA in 1870, without his family.  I have no trace of him after this but perhaps your John Ebenezar went to join him in the States.  Also Robert Gowland Wright, the son of Peter*brother to John Ebenezer, emigrated to Adelaide, Australia,so there could be a connection there.  One of Roberts sons was named John Ebenezer b.1908.  Regards Patren

Thanks Dawn for your reply. I am not sure if it was "in the paper", thought it could be as the cert was issued by the coroner.
My mother and her brother, then aged 11 and 15 were present when Mary died, and the only thing I wondered about was the difference in what they said she died from, and the actual cause of death on the cert
Many thanks
Patricia

Could anyone please do a lookup for an Inquest on the death of my mother's sister - Mary Teresa Ross who died 29th December 1929 at 135 Carville Road, Byker aged 7 years.  The story in the family was that she died of "sleepy sickness", but on the death cert., which I have just received, the cause of death is given as "Heart Failure and Acute Gastro Enteritis". The cert was received from the Coroner with a note that an Inquest was held 30th December 1929.
Many thanks
Patricia

I have just discovered that my 1st cousin 2 x removed, Helen Ross b. Resolis 1898 daughter of John Ross, meal miller and Helen Ross neč Fraser, was married to George Young at the Queensgate Hotel,Inverness, 10 July 1924.
George's residence was given as Upperwood, Resolis, and his occupation Farmer.  His father was George Young and his mother Catherine Young neč Fraser.
If anyone has any info on this family I would greatly appreciate it.
Many thanks from cold and rainy Rome.

Cumberland / William Murray b.abt.1800 Allonby, Cumberland
« on: Friday 28 June 13 17:09 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone please help me find the parents of William Murray b.abt. 1800 Allonby.  He married Nancy Hodgson in 1815.  They had four children - William b.1820, Joseph 1821, Catherine 1829 and Eliza 1839.
I have William in 1841 at Torpenhow; 1851 Bothel and Threapland; 1861 the same and 1871 the same
with a possible death 1877.
William's grandson emigrated to USA and I am helping one of the family to trace their anscestors.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
