We looked at the censuses and got back to an H L Buckston in the 1841, who was Henry's father.

The relations I really want to find out about are those of the Buxton who went to South Africa in about 1850.

I am sure it is the same family because I have a photocopy of a photograph of the Rev H. - and he is the image of my father, who was born in South Africa in 1906!

I'm interested in finding out about the earliest arrivals in South Africa of the Buxton family. Known names are Amyott Cecil Frederick Buxton, born 1906, his father Amyott George Clay Buxton and his grandfather, thought to be Amyott George Frederick Buxton.

Amyott Cecil was born in the Cape.

The family appears to have orginated in Derbyshire, England, perhaps as long ago as the 1850s.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
