hi,can any one tell me, if i' am right or wrong, i have  the town land Killgellia, parish Attymass,baronyGallen, county Mayo.also townland Bronagh, parish Cloonclair, barony Drum-ahaire, county Leitrim. Pllu. Manorhamilton, province Connaught. is this right, or wrong. thanks for your help.

Don't discount that record for Charles McCart that was discharged in 1852.

If the only source you have is a marriage cert of the son, the occupation is listed as probably the son told it.  I also have marriage certs that list the father as a soldier, but he had been discharged many years previously.

Added: Just as a matter of interest...what was the son's name?  Are you trying to go back a generation...and all you have is the father on the MC?

i dont know a lot,about  him, i have a marrage cert for his son,1882,and says his father was a soldier, thanks for trying,i will try the national archives.

Hi, can you help.looking for greatgrandfather, from  co Tyrone ? eskerbuoy ?,he was a soldier in 1882, dont know anything about him, were would i look for army records for him as a soldier.thanks
