Hello andy14976 I did know about this, though I don't think he was a methodist himself. Am I right in thinking the chapel has been sold recently? I'm also interested interested in other places in Deeping Fen where Haynes and Topham family members lived and farmed. I'm interested to hear more about your book. Peter

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Re: Market Deeping Marriage-Topham 1837

Hi John,
I'm very interested in this family. I believe that Elizabeth was Elizabeth baptised 4 Dec 1820 in Northborough dr of James and Mary Burbidge, and that this couple were James Burbage of Glinton and Mary King of Northborough married 24 March 1812 at Northborough. Northborough being just over the county border in Northants (though now Cambridgeshire). Mary's father, William King left a will in 1841 (in Northampton record office) which included a bequest to "my granddaughter Elizabeth Topham, the wife of Robert Topham of Alderchurch".  I think this must be a misspelling of Algarkirk where Robert and Elizabeth were living at the time.
Also Elizabeth Topham died 21 March 1848 according to papers about some copyhold land in Northborough belonging to William King which are at Lincolnshire Archives (ref. HD45/27). Unfortunately it doesn't say where she died and I haven't found a burial record for her yet.
