My great uncle (RAMC-Egypt) was awarded the Military Medal in WW1 and was mentioned in Despatches.....what does this medal look like and would this have been awarded for bravery :)

Many thanks!

Many thanks to you all for your helpful replies....I had initially discovered incorrect information two years ago about my great aunt which led me on a wild goose chase  :(   I had moved on to researching another part of the family when Lavinia's name cropped up again - hence my new attempt to find further details.
At least I now have some base from which to move forward in my researches.   :)

This lady, my great aunt, died in Bournemouth in December 1966 -  I have no idea where she was buried/cremated.  She was, for some years, secretary to the Mayor of Bournemouth....any information/photograph (if possible) about this lady would be gratefully received :)

Well, it is certainly before the guildhall was built in Victoria Park....I have seen a few references to Hawarden Crescent and a Hawarden House in family announcements in the Cambrian around 1897....I have a feeling that it must be St Helen's Crescent but would appreciate a confirmation.. :)

I wonder if someone could tell me whereabouts this road existed in Swansea.....I am wondering whether it may have been an early name for St Helens' Crescent, Swansea.  :)

This gentleman was Chief Electrical Engineer at Stoddart & Pitt in Bath he passed away in 1986 - does anyone remember him or indeed his wife, Violet Coombes (nee Jenkins)??   I would dearly love to see a photograph of both if at all possible...many thanks  :)
