This could be the family.

Ronald R M MacDonald was Ronald Ross Munro MacDonald.  The article mentions children David and Rosemary and the family were formerly of Moulinard, Tain.

Mary Thursfield died 7th May 1842 from 'exhaustion from previous disease'.

Samuel was born third quarter of 1843 and his grandmother's maiden name put down.

Strange.

I have a birth in my family tree where the child's grandmother's maiden name was recorded.  I think the mother of the child was asked "mother's maiden name?" and she misunderstood the question and gave her own mother's maiden name rather than her own maiden name.
