Well done on lateral thinking, I have never thought about googling the possible dates of the census, it is worth knowing, thank you

1851 census taken 30/02/1851

marriage to Isaac Neale 21/04/1851

so we must be either looking for Ann York or Ann Chambers 1851

That's interesting, how do you know the date of the census, is it listed somewhere?
I have Isaac's father's birth place as St Pancras 1805, parents Chas & Ann, Camden London, but perhaps he came from Northamptonshire and that's why Isaac ended back there for the 1851 wedding
These Neale's sure know how to make life difficult!!

Hi Louisa,
Yes I agree about the name changes, my father was Alfred Charles and yet every one called him William (Bill) go figure? I think because he had a brother who died at a very early age

I have a tentative Burial date for George Neale as 26/10/1853 aged 3-years; the address as given is Bullhead Court, Newington, St Peters Walworth Reference Page 80 / 640
Regards
Bill

Great work, thank you, I have seen some of the above but I was not sure I could take them as agreed
Re the late baptism for Charles, I was not baptised until 1983 at the request of my daughters, so perhaps it was a similar situation

If you can find anything out about Ann York I would be grateful, it was strange that her father is James Chamber, perhaps she was married previously or took her mothers name

Yes, I thought the same but the coincidences are too compelling for me to discount them, Isaac is Currier on both certificates, his father is a carpet weaver on both certificates and I cant find Isaac after 1851' so the search goes on
Thank you for checking :)

Hi there Lemon Tree,
I have just rejoined RootsChat in the hope wiser heads than mine can unravel the dastardly Isaac Neale. Thank you for posting, I have since added the banns for both marriages in the hope someone else will have them in their family tree.

Yes, I have been looking in the 1841 census for Isaac hoping to find him with his father John but no luck so far. Did you have a look at the marriage Banns and do you have an opinion as to if its the same person?

Hello I am seeking some guidance as well as any suggestions in regards to my 2nd Great Grandfather Isaac Henry Neale:
I have him married twice; once in 1846 Dulwich London to Elenora, Maria, Caroline Tyler and again in 1851 in Northampton to Ann York
So is he a bigamist or do I have two people of the same name with the same father who have the same trade (Currier)? Any help will be appreciated; I have been unable to locate him in the 1851 census other than a comment in the 1851 census from Hellen Neale (Ellen) that I think states "deserted by husband"
So please if you can help I would value your assistance Bill Neale   (Post 2)
