Technical Help / Ancestry driving me mad!!
« on: Saturday 20 February 16 16:08 GMT (UK)  »
Is it just me or do other people have problems attaching new people to their tree in Ancestry?  I have tried to add a wife to a husband and daughter to a dad and it just says it can't do it at this time and that I should try again or it just won't simply save.  I have tried again and tried several different ways to to do it but still won't let me.  I have enough problems with finding ancestors but Ancestry is making it blooming difficult to keep hold of them when I do eventually find them!  Many thanks for any help

Oooo Maggsie, you found him - thank you so much!  I now live on the Wirral - I am actually descended from Winifred as shown on the 1901 census.  Thank you again

Thanns Sandra - last sighting is 1901 on the Census in Wolverhampton with his family  Yes Maggsie, most of his family did move to Ellesmere Port but I can't see that Patrick went with them.

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / From Wolverhampton to Massachusetts?
« on: Saturday 03 October 15 11:29 BST (UK)  »
I have a Patrick McTigue born in Wolverhampton in 1883, his parents were Mark McTigue (born Ireland) and Sarah McNally.  I can find nothing on Patrick except that he might have emigrated to Massachusetts.  I am just wondering if anybody would be able to confirm this (or indeed deny it!). Any help really appreciated as I am at a bit of a loss - thanks

Ireland / Re: Eileen M Ward

I guess I will have to get the marriage certificate. I was hoping to get some firm information before having to go down that route as previous certificates I have ordered have failed to provide the information I needed.  The whole story surrounding her is quite bizarre to be honest and I would be surprised if much information will be given on the cert.  Thanks anyway

Unfortunately not.  I looked at all the Census information from Ireland and found a few possibles but could find nothing concrete - the names of the siblings being one definite bit of information I have and I could find neither of them on the same census as the possibles.

Ireland / Eileen M Ward

I am looking for the birth (or any information at all) regarding Eileen Ward (I believe her middle name may have been Margaret)...I have a few clues that don't seem to be getting me anywhere!  She was born in approximately 1900 in Ireland - she had a grandmother lliving in Waterford but not sure if Eileen was born there.  She obviously left Ireland as in 1933 she married Boyce William Morton at West Derby Registry Office.  I also believe she had a brother Frederick/Freddy and a sister Kathleen who were also living in Liverpool (not sure of other siblings) and I do know she was Roman Catholic.  She died in 1968 in the Birkenhead area.  As I say, a few clues and I have exhausted every avenue I can think of, so any help at all would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi Angellis - thanks for getting back to me.  My Grandad was Frederick Wilkinson (brother of your Nan Rose) and my Nan was Winifred Langin.  So we have the same Great Ganddad and Grandmother (not sure how that makes us related but I guess we are!).  If you find your way back on here :) would be lovely to see what information you have and I must admit I have absolutely no photos at all so any you have would be fantastic.  Really looking forward to hearing from you - Vogel x
