Caernarvonshire Lookup Requests / LOOK-UP Birth John Hughes b 1878 at Penmorfa
« on: Saturday 20 November 10 03:48 GMT (UK)  »
Please would someone look up the birth record for the following - I cannot find it on Ancestry because the sub districts are not accurate enough - I am finding the sub districts and registration districts and counties all a little confusing!

this is what I know

John Hughes b 1878 at Penmorfa in Caernarvonshire - he is on 1881 Census at Penmorfa showing Father to be Daniel Hughes b1843 at Llandulas and mother Elizabeth Williams b 1835 at Bangor. John married a Margaret (maiden name unknown - would be great to get this info) b 1874 at Llanfair P.G., Anglesey.

Thank you in advance, much appreciate your help

Lou

Hi jerseylily

Thanks for your time in looking up this on my behalf, seems possible - I was told the McLouds originally hailed from Scotland but maybe that is just cause the surname sounds Scottish,

Much appreciated

Regards, Louise

My father in law says his mother was disowned by her wealthy family, and he found some papers recently at his deceased brothers place saying her name was Lady Vernon or Verdun Hughes. Interestingly I cannot find her birth record anywhere. He remembers his mother saying she used to ride horses and live in a big grad house as a child, but then she was disowned (not clear on the reason), and after that she was taken care of by the Tarbuck family, This all happened in Cheshire and latterly the Wirral.

I think there is something in it, and would love to know just to get to the bottom of his heritage before he passes on...he' s now 74 yrs young..

This is very interesting, as I have been looking for the birth of John Robert Clark this evening and there is a mark on the index so you cannot see the page ref clearly, however I do know from census returns that his full name is

John Robert B Clark - and wondered if the B stood for Barnes also!

As Samuel Barnes Clarke is the only Samuel Clark/Clarke (checked both name variants) for 2 years either side of his supposed bap date, I am sure this kust be the record, so I am going to order it. As for John Robert I will try to order his also - there are NO other John Clark/Clarke for Bourn 2 years either side of his supposed bap date either.....will let u know what crops up, thanks for your help

regards Louise ::)

Hi

would appreciate some look up if anyone has the baps for Thurlby for the following suspects

Samuel Clark - 5 Oct 1850 I have as his bap date, but would like to see a copy of the record as I cannot find his birth on the GRO for 1849 or 1850

John Robert Clark 14 May 1848 I have as his bap date, but as above ditto

James Clark - no bap date but born 18 July 1853 at Bourne, Lincs and have found this birth record on the GRO and we have the birth cert.

These are brothers, certainly have the same mother, Mary Clark b1828, but would like to know names of mother/father on the bap record and is poss see copy of the record, I live overseas

Thanks for ANY help, Louise

Hi

I have a James Clark b1853 Bourne, he was son of Mary Clark b 1828 (remarried to John Starkey) and no father named on the birth cert - what a tragedy! Wondered if there are any other records from that time which may inadvertently reveal this information

Thanks in advance

Louise :'(
