Hi All -

Thank you all very much for the help information that you've given me.  I really appreciate it.  I am in the process of contacting the various govt. departments in an endeavour to find my mother or some of my siblings.
Again thanks !

Willcolot

Hi Willcolot, welcome,  :D
your local library should have electoral rolls.
Most major libraries now have Family History sections and they generally have access to all Australian electoral rolls.

Leonie.

Hi Les,
I am helping my friend who is feeling a bit overwhelmed with getting this started.
Thanks so very much for all the links, we will endeavour to look at them all as we pursue this research.
Cheers,

Hi Willcolot, and welcome to RootsChat.

Here is one site for Australian Cemeteries

Here is the NSW BDM site

Here is the Victorian BDM site

That will keep you going for a while. Hopefully somebody else may be able to supply further information or links.

Les

I'm trying to find out if my mother has died and if so whether she may have died in Victoria or NSW.  I don't know where to start.  If alive I believe she would be about 95 years of age.  All I do know is that in November of 1944 she moved from NSW to Victoria.  I have applied to the General Office for her birth certificate in England and I have her marriage certificate to my father.  Iv'e been adopted and fostered out as a child.  I know that my parents were divorced and I have no idea whether or not she may have remarried  (be it in Victoria or NSW)

I am 73 years of age and live in the mid north coast of NSW.
How do I:
Search for Victorian Newspaper funeral/Obituary death notices via the internet?
Search cemetery records via the internet?
Find out if she lived/died in Victoria or another state?
Search for her in Electoral Rolls?

Is there any other way of narrowing down my search?

Thanking everybody in anticipation.

Willcolot
