Thanks for the emails stretching back years. I am also rewriting up my dad's war experiences and he was posted from Upwood Suffolk to Bari and Pomigliano, Italy with 2 LSU. I remember him telling me it was the most perfect location he has ever been to and he had a ball. He can't have been there long as later in the year he was at Hullavington with 3FrS.  Very hard finding out what these abbreviations mean!

Don't know if this will help but I am researching a William Pickering b abt 1839 in Long Compton, which I think is in Warwickshire. He married Frances "Fanny" McLoughlin b Liverpool abt 1849 and had Frances C, Mary Catherine, James, William J, Edward J, Florence and Maud.
