« on: Saturday 26 February 22 21:54 GMT (UK) »Family trees on ancestry regarding Francois Eloi Gagnon show that Gagnon is a "dit" name. They can also be known as Belzile and its many spelling variations. If you google "dit" names you can find many explanations of it - better than I can explain. But in other words Joseph's ancestors could either be under Belzile or Gagnon. Plus Eloi Gagnon might actually be blood related to Joseph in some capacity other than the adopted father he is shown as on Joseph's marriage record.
Yes I do think that because Joseph is listed as Belzile and later as dit Gagnon that there is a family connection somewhere. I just havent found it yet.
