Could not find your email address anymore, sorry

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on Olympia Wigmore of Liscarroll? Olympia married William Murphy of Egmont, Churchtown approx 1837 and settled they in Liscarroll. William was a farmer and locally famed as a weight thrower. They had 4 sons all with the middle name Wigmore - Daniel, John, Stephen and James who all became priests in the United States (Daniel and John became prominent clergy in New Hampshire and Maine and Stephen and James died young). I suspect given location, names and time there may be a relationship to James Wigmore and Kate O' Callaghan of Liscarroll (though Olympia would be a very unusual 1st name for that part of the world)

Yes there is a tree :  http://www.geni.com/people/George-Peppard/6000000022133272010

Hi all,

My family "history" has always had the story that George Peppard is related to my mothers side of the family (Peppards).  Does anyone have a family tree for George Peppard.  I have tried all of his websites and although he was of Irish descent I have ever come across his family tree.  It would be great to prove or disprove this family story once and for all.

Ken, how and where did you find out there were 3 men with the name William Patterson serving in the RHA in 1861 ?

Annemarie

I think Ancestry have indexed the entry incorrectly. If you go back a page it looks like Y Field Battery, 3rd Battalion Royal Artillery. Field batteries were created for the Crimean war. Before/after they were 2 Company, 3rd Bn.

Are you certain that the 1844 entry is the man you are after - say because it is from a confirmed BMD entry? If so you should give full details of that in the hope we can identify his unit and start from there. There were three men of that name serving in the RA in 1861.

btw...the RA did not have Privates.

Thanks for the answer Ken, I did not see that second page.
The full details that I have come from his 1844 marriage certificate from Limerick Ireland 1844, his name is down as William Patterson and all it says in private royal horse artillery, nothing else.
By 1851 his wife and two daughters lived in Woolwich, William was not inthe house at the time of the 1851 census and also no where to be found in the 1861 census.
One of his daughters was born in the Kilmainham military hospital in Dublin in 1844 , another daughter in 1851 Woolwich but a birth record from her is no where to be found. Williams wife was Ellen Cronin born in Limerick Ireland 1822.
According to the daughters marriage registration her father was dead by 1871. As you will notice I do not have a clue about the army./artillerry and did not even know that the RHA had no privates :)

I  am looking for information about William Patterson who was in the 10th Battery of the Royal Horse Artillery in Sebastopol, he served from 1854-1855 . I found him on the medal and award roll , can anyone explain what this is and does this mean he died ? Or when I can possibly more information about William like age and where he was born ? I think his birth must have been around 1820 as he was a private in the RHA in Limerick in 1844.
