Hi Ian,

This sounds like a good lead. I have checked on IGI and I have found a Caroline (1812), Ann Maria (1814), twins Harriet Maria and Susanna and William Henry were all christened in 1807 and a James (1802) all with a mother Susanna and father James. I know that with the 1841 census people ages were rounded, so even if it says she was 25, she could have been any age between 25 and 29 to fall into this age group, so you never know if she was 29 then everything would ring a bit more. The only thing that puts me off is the death/burial states she was born in 1818 which would throw it all out again.

Thanks again for your help.

Regards,
Tricia

Hi Ian,

I had a scroll through IGI and I found a Harriett Hillier b1813 in Mitcham, mother Sarah and father William but could not find anything to link them for definitely with Caroline Hillier.

Maybe it's just going to be one of those unknowns?

Thanks for the tip.

Hi Nanny Jan,

I got the little bit of information off of the 1841 census which she was married by then and only lists her connection with James Joseph Anthoney.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I am trying to find the names of the parents for James Joseph Anthoney born about 1810 in Lambeth, Surrey.

He married a Caroline Hillier in 1835 and they had 5 childrem. The family appears on the 1841 and 1851 census.

His profession was that of a barge builder.

He re-married a Hannah Heavens after Carolien died. Intersting is that James died on 10 Jan 1856 and Hannah on 9 Jan 1865

If anyone has any ideas or information I would be grateful.

Thanks
Tricia

I am trying to trace the parents of Caroline Hillier. I have not been lucky in finding anything on IGI and what information I do know about her is:-

B abt 1818 Lambeth, Surrey
D Apr 151 Southwark, London/Surrey

Married a James Joseph Anthoney on 15 Jun 1835 and they had 5 children.

She appears on the 1841 and 1851 censuses.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to find anything to do with her mother and father it would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks
Tricia

thanks everyone for your help.

Daisy petal , this is the family but in answer to your question, we are pretty sure percival/john are the same person, we can only assume he was in camberwell workhouse, where he was born, on the 1891 census.

we will keep looking .................. and hoping

thanks again everyone
