Occupation Interests / Re: Help with a lookup - Railway Records

Hi, I was hoping that maybe there would be somehting on the newly released rail records on ancestry...

As for the strike, I believfe that he took the strike as an opportunity to emmigrate to Canada.  Meaning, no work here, might as well go to Canada.  The rest of the family came a year later.

Canada Lookup Request / Sheldrake / Sheldrick / Shelldrake

Hello,

Wasw ondering if anyone could help with a look for the following..

1861 Census William (Wilm) Sheldrick - birth 1846, ennum Carleton Co.

I believe it should list his father as Alphred Sheldrick (born 1819) - but need confirmation.  If possible I would like to confirm the death of Aphred in 1911, Carleton Co.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Scott

No such luck.. perhaps someone with an ancestry account can verify if shipping lists are availiable for these troop voyages in the catalogue I referenced in the subject line.

I just want to see if it is worth it for a subscription.

Thanks,

Scott

Does anyone know if these lists include ships coming from Canada in 1940, carrying men of the C.A.S.F?

My Grandfather and others sailed from Halifax on 7-24-40, and arrived in Gourock, Scotland 08-02-40 as part of the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Scott
