Dublin / Anne Verdon and Michael O'Neill marriage.... Dublin?
« on: Monday 02 January 12 19:54 GMT (UK)  »
I have a marriage cert for Michael O'Neill and bridget  Glennon in St. Kevins 6/9/1868 which states that Michael's parents are Michael O'Neill and Anne Verdon and in America at time of marriage.

On looking for other children of Michael snr and Anne, I found Baptismal records for Mary Jane O'Neill (16/1/1874), Michael Francis O'Neill (27/10/1876) and James Christopher O'Neill (24/10/1878). I presumed they are their children as parents are listed as Michael O'Neill and Jane verdon, but maybe I am wrong. The dates also seem quite late after the birth of Michael(c.1848) who got maried in 1868!! Also, that would mean they named two sons Michael. Looks like I have the wrong people but these are the only records of a Michael O'Neill and Anne/Jane Verdon I can find. If any help I do know that both Michael jnr and Michael Snr were stucco plasterers. Any clues gratefully accepted.

Thanks all

Hi,

Am Looking for Ellen O'Reilly born Limerick city (according to census) c. 1871. RIP by c.1939. I have marriage for her and Thomas White in dublin in 1896. Her father's name was Francis who was a gardener. I have no idea where in Limerick she was born. She had children Tom, Peter, Pat, christina and James all born in Dublin and who I have information on. Any help greatly appreciated with birth record of Ellen. Oh seemingly she had six sisters who all emigrated to America together at some stage.  Have posted on various sites but have no information on these

Thanks all

Hi,

Looking for any information on birth of Luke Ayers born in Longford (I think Longford town) around April/May 1828.  I think his father was William. Luke served in the British army in India and was discharged in 1868. He married Bridget Gill of Carbury Kildare in September 1868. I just found out he was born in Longford so I have no further information. His name of also been recorded as Ayres/Eyres/Eyers

Thanks

Hi,

Would really appreciate any information on the members of "B"coy 4th batt, Dublin Brigade, Old IRA. My great uncle Peter White was a member and I know that at the funeral of a James.Sinnott in 1939 in Deans Grange, he was one of the firing party. Others members of the firing party were Lt. B. Leahy, C. Clarke, P. Lanigan, J. Corcoran, M. White and JP Du Moulin. Peter was interred and on hunger strike, as was James Sinnott,  in tintown in the curragh camp and later became a dublin town councillor. Any information or lists regarding members of this company would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks all

Thanks for replies folks,

I have the actual marriage cert for Luke and Bridget and these are definitely the right people. Luke's residence at time of marriage was Bow Lane in Dublin and Bridgets was Ticknevin, Kilpatrick, Carbury, Kildare. Not sure if Luke was born in Dublin but had children in Carbury, Kildare (Mary ann 1869, James 1871, Thomas 1873 and Brigid my grandmother in 1875).

His year of birth, if this is my Luke, according to the 1861 England Census in Aldershot barracks, would be c.1828.

I also found a death cert (1883) for a Luke Eyres of 4 Carmans Hall, Dublin who was 45 at time of death which would make his year of birth c.1838. Why I thought this may have a chance of being connected is that in the Dublin 1901 census there is a James ayres born in Kildare born c.1871 who lived in 3.3 Carmans Hall, Dublin. (tenemant buildings) and maybe this was his son and they were living beside each other. It would be much easier if the spelling of the names were consistent.  Even on the marriage cert the name is spelled two different ways!!! Just to make it hard on all of us  :)
