Hi all, does anybody have references to unmarried mums going to Waihora Station to have their babies? 1940's/ 50's.
Would seem an ideal spot, in the middle of nowhere.

New Zealand Completed Requests / BMD micro-fiches
« on: Thursday 07 April 16 11:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi all, I am searching on BMDs for an adoption.
I have found a micro-fiche which I think has the record on and upon going to the BMD shop, the "date of event" is 01/01/ ****. Is this the date the micro-fiche was set up? Other records in the same year have the same date.

Australia / James McGaw marriage in NSW?
« on: Saturday 07 February 15 20:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all, I'm stuck while researching James McGaw.
His NZ death cert has his birthplace in Glasgow, Scotland in 1856, a marriage in NZ in 1902 to my gt-grandmother, Sarah Joyce.
The certificate also mentions another marriage, in NSW, about 1876.
I haven't been able to find this on NSW BDMs so can't verify it.
He was a ship's steward.
