Yorkshire (West Riding) / Shaw's of Pontefract and Castleford-completed
« on: Tuesday 10 March 09 11:00 GMT (UK)  »
Hello all,
I would like to learn more about the Shaw family, shoemakers, at least from 1851 in Pontefract and later on in Castleford with a particular interest in Gideon Shaw born 1887 and his son / grandson,Neville. There was a possible connection to the Rugby scene and racing fraternity in more recent years.

I would appreciate a p.m. response to this enquiry if anyone has any information on these two individuals.

Regards

Two new family members,Peter McCormac (k) and Eliza Brophy have just been discovered .known to be in the Tullamore Workhouse in 1899 when their son was born.

Have been advised by the local library service that there are no surviving records of the period.

If you have a link to these two I would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your generous offer of a look up which is much appreciated.
I am seeking information on James Donovan aka Hines - Donovan and his wife Mary Ann. Their daughter Alice Maud was baptized at St Paulinus in 1889. I would very much like to know if James and Mary Ann were buried in this location.
Any details of this family would be great.
All good wishes

Dear All,
Quick question, does anyone know if there are any local ref/index of men who served in the army during WW1. Am looking to find details of my g.father & g.g. grandfather both of whom I was told served in France and survived with injuries.

Many Thanks
