Durham / Durham Gaol, 1881

Hello,

One of my ancestors was listed as being in Durham Gaol on the 1881 census.  Does anyone have any idea where I could find records which would tell my why and for how long?

Hello everyone,

I have Jane SWINBURN born circa 1811 who, according to all of the censuses (censi ???) was born Cowpen.  I can't find her on the IGI, does anyone know where I could get access to parish registers for Cowpen, please? Or do you have any other ideas on how to find her birth/baptism?

Trying to find my LEGG's   ;)  in 1841.

They were at Brunswick Place (Chirton) North Shields in 1851

Peter (age would be abt. 34
Agnes abt 24

Lovely if anyone can help.

(Most of the LEGG's in Northumberland and Durham can be connected, so if you come across any others, I'd love to know of them)

I am trying to locate the LEGG family in the 1841 census.

Hoping you can locate them in the Brunswick Place area of North Shields (may also say Chirton).  Brunswick Place was given in the 1851 index of Chirton, North Shields.

in 1841: Agnes, (would be) 25
Elizabeth, 0
Peter, 34
Thomas, 6

(All the LEGG names in Northumberland and Durham connect in some way.  I'm almost there in Northumberland, need a little work on the Durham side, although the LEGG's on the banks of the Tyne seem to connect, Gateshead, South SHields etc.  So....ANY LEGG's would be appreciated.)
