Canada Lookup Request / Charlotte Mercer and John Newlove

Hi Canadian Roots Chatters
I am looking to confirm the date, and possibly details, of the marriage of John Newlove and Charlotte Mercer. Some trees say 1841 some have an actual date 24 Jan 1847 but not a place or church. i.e. the date may be from a Family Bible and may be wrong if written down years after the event.
I think the parties were Anglican. John's Newlove family were in Toronto Twp. Peel but they also had land in Etobicoke Twp. York. Charlotte's Mercer family were based around York Mills but her father may have moved to Peel because he is buried in Dixie St John's cemetery. As were John Newlove and his father.
If the date is after 1843, then it looks like it may be a second marriage as there is a child born about 1842/3 and also one in 1846. The first child was stated in the census and other records to have been born in the U.S.
The nitty gritty of Canadian records is not my strong suit. I have a feeling that Anglican records from the Dixie Union Chapel may have been lost in a fire in the new church of St John the Baptist. I am assuming the old registers from their time at the Chapel were moved into the new church.
Did the Anglicans send copies of their records to the Diocese as per Bishop's Transcripts? Or are all records lost? I see there are cemetery records for sale for Dixie. Can anyone tell me if they are transcripts of information on monuments or are they a transcript of all the burials that took place there?
I would be very grateful for clarification on any of these questions.
Thanks for reading.
