Very intermittent but picture will break up or disappear.ITV channels are fine.Set now not attached to Humax but still the problem.I recently heard that transmitters were being changed to take 4g.I don't understand these things but wonder if anyone else has the problem.I believe our transmitter to be Crystal Palace.
Any ideas.....thanks

Technical Help / Vodophone ....lack of signal...how widespread
« on: Friday 15 May 15 09:02 BST (UK)  »
Visiting Cotswolds and found no coverage at times with Vodophone,Thought nothing of it until on arrival home in Berkshire still found no signal. This was on our two phones.A couple of times we received calls and I did manage to make one call.Would be interested to hear if anyone else on this network has had recent problems.
From past experience it's useless trying to get in touch with customer services and even writing two letters ,one being recorded delivery no answer to a
previous problem was addressed.

Amazing pictures of London in the time of grandparents and great grandparents.Trafalgar Square in 1890.Hear the chimes of Big Ben and look at old and new side by side.
Google London Footage on film and you will find it.

The Common Room / Ancestry and Easy Fundraising
« on: Thursday 09 April 15 12:24 BST (UK)  »
Using Easy Fundraising to raise money for charities is a good idea and we use it often.Recently however we tried to get into Ancestry via this site to renew our sub.Instead of getting Ancestry we got some sort of code come up ....The computer is well protected so its difficult to kniw what has happened.Anyone else had similar probs.
Also it was brought to our notice by various help sites that Ancestry .com wasn't always safe.

The Lighter Side / Portillo programmes from National Archives
« on: Monday 30 March 15 18:51 BST (UK)  »
So annoying to have to sit through nearly 3 minutes at the start telling us what we are going to see..These programmes on .2 have been very interesting but spoilt by this long beginning.

Useful Links / Link: Genealogy Book Search
« on: Sunday 15 March 15 17:13 GMT (UK)  »

Very much in it infancy but worth a look.Newspapers and documents from many places may reveal a secret story or tree. For example my husband put the surname Havilland into the search box and England ,Came up with a lot of records including a very old family tree from Guernsey and Poole.Another name I put in was Shirvington and it revealed the story of a friends ancestor travelling to Salt Lake City. The ancestor had disappeared from censuses in England but this site showed her story in America.

Probably at the moment it's easier with more unusual surnames.
