Ayrshire / Cross Keys - Tarbolton
« on: Wednesday 18 April 12 08:21 BST (UK)  »
I wonder if anyone can help me with this query?

In c1782 there was an inn called the Cross Keys in Tarbolton, some references say that this was another name for Manson's Tavern, other references say that the Cross Keys was an inn completely separate from Manson's, which is correct?

I'm off the opinion that they were two separate places, in two different locations, does anyone know this to be fact? and if so, where were they located in Tarbollton, and who was the Landlord of the Cross Keys at this time?

many thanks for any help in this,

The History society I'm a member of was given this old pic 100 years ago this year, it's dated about 1865 and was presented by a sister historical society.
I though it would be a nice gesture on the anniversary of this gift, to return it to then, coloured, if at all possible. Can anyone help with this please?
It would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Stirlingshire / Elvis an Old Stirling worthy (pic)
« on: Thursday 29 December 11 11:08 GMT (UK)  »
How many people can remember Elvis walking around the streets of Stirling in the late sixties?
This was taken in Port Street at the bottom of King Street.

I am looking for any photo's of a character called Soapy Moray (Tam Murray) who was a local Tramp in Stirling in the 50's.

Also, I'm trying to find pics of, The Original Bar, The Argyle Bar and The Bush Tavern, exteriors.

Any help would be appreciated

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / School Choir - 1957
« on: Saturday 09 July 11 08:31 BST (UK)  »
This is a photo scanned from an old paper, which has pretty much seen better days.
Is there anyone that perhaps help make it a bit more presentable, tidy it up, and easier to look at.
Those of us still left from the choir and hoping to have a school reunion next year, and I thought it would make a nice keepsake of the occasion.
Any help with this would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

I thought this is a great photograph, and wondered if anyone could perhaps do their magic on it.
It would look even better in colour maybe. Thanks again to all.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Help with this old building please!
« on: Sunday 24 October 10 10:07 BST (UK)  »
Recently we had to downsize our local club due to running costs etc, and have moved to a smaller building. This is an old photograph of the old club just after it was opened at the turn of the last century. Is it possible that someone might be able to colour this, I thought it might make a good display in our new club, to remember the old one. Many thanks for any help.
