Hi all

In Anc* collection " London, England, Clandestine Marriage and Baptism Registers ", I've been looking at a marriage in March 1731 of an Ann ALLEN. I can read most of the record bar the last two words which appear to say " at home".

Those words appear on most of the records on that page, can anyone tell me what it means ?

Thanks in advance for any help

Technical Help / Ancestry Advice Please
« on: Wednesday 04 May 16 08:45 BST (UK)  »

Good morning,

I've logged into Anc* this morning and my home page has changed.

I have been through the 'help' section and it is telling me to click on the button 'Customize your Home page' which can be found on the top right hand side of the page.

But it's NOT there  ???

Can anyone enlighten me as to where this button is ?

Thanks in advance

The Lighter Side / Heir raising moment -spooky or what ?!?
« on: Friday 08 April 16 15:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi all

I've been researching my OHs FT for some years now, but with a common surname and a broken family unit it has proved quite difficult at times.
However finding the death records of his Aunt and Uncles...I found this..

Florence L Moore died 5 JUNE (1961)... my son was born on this date
William C Moore died 2 MAY (1916)... my youngest son was born on this date
George Moore died 15 FEBRUARY (1941)...my daughter was born on this date.

So I have three siblings all dying on days that my children were born on, albeit my children were born much later.

How spooky !!  :o :o

Has this kind of thing ever happened to anyone else

Other Countries - Resources / Mark Thomson death in British Guiana ?
« on: Thursday 07 April 16 11:28 BST (UK)  »
My 5x Gt Grandfather Mark Thomson married in 1799 at Plymouth, a yeoman given as his occupation. Between then and 1809 he had four children.

A close relative of mine has given me his death date of 12 November 1810 in British Guiana and at this time was a mariner.

I can find no records to substantiate this, but no death in Plymouth either.

Are there records out there I can check ?

Thank you in advance for any advice given  :)

Cornwall / MOCARD ~help with surname
« on: Monday 01 April 13 17:05 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I have been researching my Luce family for quite a while, my 6x Gt Gdmother Mary Rowe nee Luce
and her sister Sarah Luce both born St Stephens by Saltash. Parents: Thomas Luce and Ann Eleanor Bentley.

Sarah Luce married William Traill 1790 SS by S, he was bap. 1749 parents William Traill and Mary ?

I have recently purchased a will of a John Mocard who died 1807 aged 83, in which both ladies were beneficiaries described as 'nieces'.

I have found two marriages (in St Stephens by Saltash) of John Mocard, 1st: 1749 to Sarah Monk, 2nd marriage 1781 to a Mrs Mary Traill.

I can't find any birth record for John Mocard, can anyone help?

Has anyone come across this surname before?
