Yorkshire (West Riding) / working out which burial place
« on: Saturday 09 November 19 17:45 GMT (UK)  »
Sorry I couldn't think of a better title.

I have found a burial record for one of my ancestors.  It's the Bradford area and the reel number is  Bradford Moor, Brownroyd, Burley, Clayton, Crossroads, Denholme, Frizinghall, Great Horton which I presume are the areas covered,

The writing is beyond me though so I've included a screen shot if anyone can decipher where I'm supposed to be looking.

Derbyshire / Harry (Henry) Field, Scarcliffe, Derbyshire
« on: Monday 28 October 19 18:06 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I am looking for anyone who can help in the search for Harry Field

So far I have the following

Harry Field born 4th November 1988 according to the 1939 Census

Married Mary Florence Turner in 1914 in Chesterfield from those records I discovered his name was actually Henry Field.  (Mary Florence Turner is from the Isle Of Wight)

in the 1939 Census he is in Scarcliffe as a Porter Signal Man in the Station House.

Prior to this he was also in the Isle Of Wight where his wife was born and where some of his children are born.

He died in 1961 and is buried in Scarcliffe Churchyard (his date of birth on the gravestone is 1889)

His Civil Registration Death Index has his date of birth as 1891

I'm at a loss where to go from here.  If someone has access to army records maybe they could track him from the 1st world war.

If someone could suggest a site for railway employees I could check that.

There is a 1911 Census for a Harry Field in Chesterfield Living with a family called Turner, but I couldn't trace them back to the Isle Of Wight.  Although that is a huge coincidence.

 Any help appreciated.

Derbyshire / George Gaunt 1882-1960 Chesterfield help.
« on: Wednesday 17 July 19 15:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Further to my earlier post I have started with the Gaunt line, I am currently looking for information on

George Gaunt 1882-1960 born in Horsley in 1882 and died in the Chesterfield District in 1960.

I have contacted Cemeteries and Crematoriums and they have no record, if someone can give a rough area of where Chesterfield District covers I could start on churches.

For family he married Hannah Harrison in 1901 and then Harriet Smith in 1910  I believe he was living in Blackwell for the 1939 register.

I've started trying to trace ancestors, but that's slow going.

I'm also looking for his father and mother

 James Gaunt 1858
 Mary Ann Butler 1859

They were in Kilburn in 1911 and I believe James was on the 1939 Register in the Belper area with his son John H Gaunt.

Anyone who knows the family I would be happy to hear from you.

Hi,

I've just been through the board, and nothing has come up there to help me, so I thought I'd put my own thread up.

Initially I would ask if anyone has also researched the following names below then could they get in touch, before I start asking specific questions.   I have some information about the families, burial records, census records etc, but I am looking specifically for graves, so anyone who can chat and help would be appreciated.

I'll give a main family name, a village and a couple of recent people so it's not too scattergun.

Looking for people who have researched the following families.

Hayes - From Pilsley including William Hayes died 1911 and his wife Mary Ann died in 1912
Vardy - from Pilsley ? George Vardy was born in 1828 and lived in Pilsley, Tibshelf and Swanick, His
wife Ann Vardy I believe was born in Shirland in 1833 and lived in Pilsley in 190.
Seston -  From Clowne, Thomas Seston died in 1914, his son was Charlie who died in Creswell
Froggatt - From Barlborough, George Froggatt died in 1877 and his wife Ann in 1871
Revill - From Clowne, the precursers to the Seston's Sarah Revill died in 1862
Limb - Ault Hucknall Area, Robert Limb died in 1884 in Tibshelf, his ancestors were buried in Ault
           Hucknall
Gill & Stone - From Darley, William Gill died in Darley in 1891, Joseph Stone in 1808
Gaunt & Butler - from the Horsley area, Joseph Butler died in Horsley in 1902 and Joseph Gaunt in
                         1908.

If you have any of the above in your tree and would like to help me fill in the blanks then please either message me or write below.

 Thanks

 David

Lincolnshire / Woolley / Edenbrow / Allen (Coleby / Waddington areas possibly)
« on: Thursday 02 May 19 09:11 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm following up on another branch of the tree.

If there is anyone here related to the following and you can help me research back to 1900 then I would appreciate any messages.  I have found most of the marriage records for the following but I'm specifically looking for relatives who are still alive and might know about other ancestors.

Mary Ann Robinson married John William Woolley (also married William
                                          Fisher later in life)

 Their Children

Elsie May Woolley (married Charles Edward Allen and had a son Reginald C
Allen and possibly 1 other child lived in Waddington)

 Ivy Mary Woolley

Florence Rose Woolley (Married Henry Edenbrow and lived in Coleby for
                                  quite a while)

I am actually trying to trace their ancestor Elizabeth Robinson who is Mary Ann's Mother.

 Thanks for reading.

Hi,

I have been researching this branch of my family tree, and I am struggling to find burial records for either Isaac Robinson (born 1838) who died in 1909 and Elizabeth Robinson (born Bonnett in 1855).

The last information i have is a 1909 death index for Isaac, for the Caistor region, I am currently combing through the parish burial records for all the churches in the area he lived near Middle Rasen.

I know Elizabeth was alive for the 1911 census, she was in Market Rasen with her son, but I have no death index for her, It may be she remarried so I'm going to go down that path at some point.

If anyone is researching this family and you want to get in touch, I would love to chat and see if you could help.

I'm related in line through their son George.

Family History Beginners Board / England & Wales, Civil Registration Death Index
« on: Monday 08 April 19 11:23 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

I'm trying to find some burial records, but I'm struggling with some.  I could go through endless parish records on the hope of hitting the right one, but I also wondered if I could narrow it down from the Civil Registration Death Index.

For example, the main person I am looking for at the moment, is registered as having died in Caistor District,  would the Volume and Page number on the index give me a more precise location?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Family History Beginners Board / Scholesmoor Cemetery Bradford
« on: Sunday 24 February 19 11:59 GMT (UK)  »
Hi,

I know this is short notice but I've only just found this site.    My daughter and I will be visiting Scholesmoor Cemetery tomorrow in search of family graves.  We know that at least 1 person is buried there and possibly more.

Does anyone know whether the cemetery is easy to navigate :)  I have a plot number, and of course a year they died, but from conversations on another site, the plot number doesn't really mean much as it could be for lots of different sections.

I looked on the Yorkshireindexers site for a map, but they keep crashing when i attempt to register.

 Any help would be appreciated.
