Kilkenny / Knocktopher
« on: Saturday 18 May 24 14:50 BST (UK)  »
Hello,
Looking for information on the village of knocktopher. My stringer family were born there. I'm trying to locate exactly where.  Their address is given as only knocktopher  and the father of the house was a land steward. Would this mean they came from the village centre somewhere? Would any one know if there was a stewards house some where  there?  The time line was  from 1850s to 1900. Thank you

He was stationed in mayo donegal and galway. Would love to learn a bit more about Michael and his family. Found pension records for ric man in strokestown  and  widow in elfin but not sure its him.

hi just wondering would anyone have any information on a man called michael kennedy from monivea. He was the son of john francis kennedy and elizabeth newell. apparently he was a bit of a trouble maker and was always fighting, not ideal when your father is the local sargent! The story goes that he left and never returned home again after his father disowned him. i have no dates yet for him of any kind but just wnted to see if this story sounds familar to anyone.
Thanks all!
