My maternal grandmother Agnes Elizabeth Bunyan (nee Tomkins) married George Henry Dean in 1952 (Luton, Beds). I'm trying to find out more information about his family. George died in 1956.
Any information gratefully received.

The Common Room / Poctcard written in code
« on: Monday 24 November 14 18:28 GMT (UK)  »
Help!

If anyone can decipher the coded writing on this potcard, I'd be most grateful. The postcard was written by my Great Grandfather x 2 (in 1873) to his sister Lizzie who lived in Cosheston Wales. His father was a stonemason, so the Pigpen code may have played a part, but this code has me stumped.

Any code breakers out there?

Is it possible to find out who was living at 20 Beecham Road, Reading in 1918? I know the Mills family lived there some years before that.

My ancestor Benjamin Furlong gave this address as his destination on the ship manifest.

Can anyone help?

Bedfordshire / Furlong, Bunyan
« on: Monday 11 August 14 01:50 BST (UK)  »
I'm looking for anyone connected to either Furlong or Bunyan surnames. In the 1800s, the Furlongs came to Luton from Cosheston, Wales. The Bunyans have been in Bedfordshire for some time.

Berkshire Lookup Requests / Benjamin Furlong - murder mystery
« on: Sunday 10 August 14 22:30 BST (UK)  »
I'm wondering if anyone has access to newspapers from the Reading area for 1918. Benjamin Furlong, born in Cosheston, Pembs., was working as a baker (possibly for the Army Service Corps) in the Reading area when he was murdered and ended up in the river, where he drowned. Ben had been living in Nebraska, but returned to England.
If anyone can help, I'd very much appreciate it.
