Wiltshire Lookup Requests / Marriage CHARLES FLIPPENCE & EMILY WAITE
« on: Monday 28 May 12 09:16 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to work out the parents of Jasper Worthy Flippence (born 1861 Milton Wiltshire, died 1918 Burbage Wilts). I know his father is Charles Flippence and I know his mother is Emily. I need to know Emily's maiden name however I am unable to find confirmation of their marriage. Charles Flippence is a widow on the 1871 census and I think Emily's death is 1865. Charles is remarried to Eliza by 1881 & Jasper is still living with them. The name EMILY WAITE (or EMILY ANNE WAITE) keeps coming up on other people's trees as being Charles Flippence's wife (married Oct Q 1848 Devizes). However, when I view this record and click to see other people on the page, so I can link the 2 together, the name Charles Flippence isn't there. I'm very confused. Can anyone help me please? :)

Cheshire Lookup Requests / Death AMY C MULLEE Chester, Cheshire
« on: Tuesday 22 May 12 22:38 BST (UK)  »
I can't find a death record for Amy C Mullee. She was married to James Patrick Mullee in 1938, Chester. James died in 1975 at the Royal Infirmary Chester and on the cremation register, it states he was married (so i pressume his wife Amy was still alive at the point he died). They were living in Prescott Street, Hoole, Chester. There didn't have children, so no-one around to ask. I was told once, that they may have lived in the Blackpool area for a time before returning to Chester. Any help would be great. Thanx

Wiltshire Lookup Requests / 1911 Census EMILY ELLEN FLIPPENCE of Burbage
« on: Monday 21 May 12 10:06 BST (UK)  »
I can't find Emily Ellen Flippence on the 1911 census. Born in Pewsey 1889. Father was Jasper Worthy Flippence, Mother either Louisa Stagg or Mary Louisa Kimber. According to family members, she worked in service in London which is where she met her husband Thomas Edward Noon - He was a Grenadier Guard.
I can find her sisters Harriet Ann and Mabel Louisa  on 1911 census in London (both in service) but I can't find Emily anywhere. Now here's the tricky bit. Before Emily and Thomas were married they had 2 children who died. I know that the 2nd child was called Mary Louisa. Born in Pewsey, she died and was buried in 1913 in Ellemere Port. The first child was a boy called Thomas. I have no details at all of his birth, death or anything. But I know he had died by the time they had their 2nd child, so he must have been born before 1912. Given that Emily was in London in service around that time, where could she be? I did find a Thomas Noon who was a patient in the Royal Orthopedic Hospital on Portland Street, London in the 1911 census aged 1, but no mention of parents etc. Would Emily have been able to still work if she had a baby? There have been no family stories about her being a suffragette, so why can't I find her? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Can anyone please help me find a record of death or burial for Sarah Jane Noon (nee Brookman)? Born abt 1858 she married Edward Noon abt 1879. They lived in Canton, Cardiff and had 8 children. Eliza Ann, Henry John, May Florence, Thomas Edward, William Joseph, Beatrice Maude, Mary and Lillian Emma.
She may have been born in Wiltshire but her marriage :) was definately in Cardiff. I think she died between 1894 and 1906. I can't locate any of the family on the 1901 census either. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanx

Glamorganshire Completed Lookups / 1901 Census Noon Family Cardiff
« on: Sunday 20 May 12 18:42 BST (UK)  »
I can't find Edward Noon and Sarah Jane Noon in the 1901 Census. I've got them in 1881 - Harvey Street, Canton, Cardiff. Then 1891 again in Harvey Street, Canton, Cardiff & then in the 1911 census they are in Orchard Street, Canton, Cardiff (Edward Noon widowed), but I can't find them anywhere in the 1901 census. Sarah Jane Noon nee Brookman died between 1894 and 1905, so I really want to see if she is still alive in 1901. Then hopefully I can start to look for her death (which at the moment I can't find any trace of). So if anyone could be kind enough to help me out here, I would be eternally grateful.
Edward Noon abt 1855 Sarah Jane Brookman abt 1858. Many Thanx x x x x :) :)

World War One / Cheshire-Chester Regiment help pls
« on: Saturday 31 July 10 20:42 BST (UK)  »
I have the medal card my great uncle - Martin Mullee from Chester. I'm confused about it!
Under Corps it reads Chesh R - Number 72465 and  R.W.Fus - 95007.
Medals Victory and British.
Does this mean he served in the Cheshire Regiment and the Royal Welsh Fusiliers?
I'm new to this and have no idea what to do next. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many Thanks
